That’s why MIAA's Business Intelligence team have created the Simple AI Booklet Series—a set of four short, practical guides designed to make AI understandable for everyone working in health and care.

What’s in the series?

Each booklet tackles a key theme in plain English:

• Introduction to AI in the NHS
  A clear overview of what AI is, how it’s being used in the NHS, and what it means for staff and patients.
• Risk and Bias
  Explains how bias can arise in AI systems and what fairness means in a healthcare context.
• Governance and Accountability
  Clarifies who is responsible for AI decisions and how oversight can be maintained.
• Data Quality
  Highlights the importance of robust, representative data in building trustworthy AI tools.
