The MIAA Team was acknowledged at last week’s HFMA North West Conference awards, recognising outstanding contributions in their work.

Congratulations to the Solutions Team who won the Collaboration Award recognising the importance of effective relationships to the achievement of a shared goal. 

The jury felt that their work on the Continuing Healthcare Backlog Reviews Project made them the perfect candidates for this award. Judges were impressed by the scale and collaboration of the project and the complexity involved with stakeholders including the local authority and care homes; that led to a £12 million recurrent system saving and improved quality indicators for patients. That this could then be used in other systems was the icing on the cake!

Keith Bowman, Executive Director of Solutions commented: “I’m delighted that the team delivering the CHC work has been recognised, for their exceptional work. This is a key area of challenge across all systems. Working in partnership with our local authority and ICS client, MIAA has delivered this staged programme delivery benefits for this project since 2022, delivering over 960 patient case reviews and freed up £12.92m costs for this client.”

Gayle Wells, Director of Operations and Vice Chair of HFMA NW took home the award for Outstanding Individual, for her contributions to HFMA and ONE NHS Finance, the impact Gayle has had on the numerous organisations she has worked for and going over the requirements of her role though undertaking a master’s degree in Occupational and Organisational Psychology.”

She commented: “I feel honoured to have received this, thank you for the award. It really means a lot.”
