LUHFT was created in October 2019 following the merger of two acute hospital Trusts, bringing together four main sites and over 14,000 staff. Serving a population of 630,000 locally and providing specialist services to more than two million people across the Northwest.
One of its key challenges was to modernise and standardise clinical outcome recording. The previous paper-based outcome forms were time-consuming, inconsistent, and delayed updates to the Patient Administration System (PAS), creating inefficiencies and potential risks in patient care.
MIAA Solutions were engaged to provide independent project coordination, rolling out of the digital programme in line with the schedule, and training delivery support across all four hospital sites.
Key actions included:
The introduction and uptake of eOutcomes delivered significant quality improvements, with staff able to capture and update patient information instantly and accurately. The transition from paper to digital reduced administrative burden, improved data integrity, and enhanced the timeliness of patient records and captured the value of outcomes that were previously heavily underreported.
Through structured training, intensive, pro-active stakeholder engagement, and consistent project coordination, LUHFT achieved adoption of the system across its four sites, embedding a sustainable solution that supports both frontline care delivery and administration and organisational efficiency.
