MIAA Solutions recently completed a successful six-month strategic HR support assignment with Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), a key provider of acute and community healthcare services across Cheshire.
The assignment was commissioned by the Chief Executive to provide independent, senior-level HR advice and leadership for a time-limited period of 20 weeks, pending the successful recruitment of a substantive Chief People Officer. MCHFT is the largest provider of hospital (acute) and community services for people in a wide geographical area, including East Cheshire, West Cheshire and Chester boroughs. The Trust is also one of the largest local employers with around 5,500 staff across its sites.
Operating independently of internal audit and assurance functions, MIAA embedded senior HR expertise within the executive team, providing strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Trust Board, leadership and oversight of priority HR work programmes, and senior guidance to the HR leadership team. The service focused on assessing organisational risks and priorities from an HR perspective, agreeing targeted interventions with the Chief Executive, working closely with executives, clinicians and senior managers, and ensuring delivery within the Trust’s governance, policies and procedures.
Alongside ongoing strategic advice, MIAA supported a range of specific projects and organisational challenges, strengthening executive grip on strategic HR risks and enabling continuity, stability and progress during a critical transition period for the Trust’s people leadership.
