MIAA is proud to announce its signing of the Disability Employment Charter, furthering its commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. MIAA’s support of this Charter aligns with its mission to build a diverse and inclusive environment that attracts and retains the best talent, while offering everyone the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Charter addresses persistent labour market disparities for disabled individuals, who continue to face significant challenges, including a marked employment gap, pay inequities, and lower levels of job satisfaction and workplace well-being. By signing this Charter, MIAA demonstrates its dedication to actively addressing these issues and to supporting disabled people in achieving meaningful and fulfilling employment.
“MIAA fully supports the Charter’s aims, and we are committed to making our workplace accessible and welcoming to disabled people,” said Gayle Wells, MIAA’s Operations Director. “This Charter provides a clear framework for action that we believe is essential in ensuring disabled individuals have the same opportunities as everyone else to thrive in their careers.”
The Disability Employment Charter lays out specific measures that the government and employers can take to address the disadvantages disabled people encounter in the workplace.
MIAA’s signing of the Charter underlines its commitment to be an organisation that not only upholds these principles but champions the rights and needs of all its employees.
Through its support of this Charter, MIAA reaffirms its commitment to promoting a work culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level, helping to pave the way toward a more equitable workforce.
