MIAA Assurance Team Year in View 2022/23


This short video summarises the achievements of MIAA's Assurance team in the past year.

Our extensive footprint, provides our clients with access to best practice and has enabled us to provide stability and support during one of the biggest transformations in NHS history.

Our assurance team supported across the North West region, with 28 clients merging into three organisations, being in a unique position to share innovative insights on evolving risks and support collaboration.  We were recognised by HFMA for this work and shortlisted for a Governance Award and IIA outstanding public sector team.

Our assurance client base has continued to grow providing to blue light services, local authorities, and third sector as well as NHS clients where we now operate across five systems .

Our work on the Financial Sustainability Checklist has also been recognised nationally, working with HFMA and The Internal Audit Network.  We also supported the delivery of the HFMA national Audit Chairs conference.

We engage with a range of regional and national bodies covering healthcare management, digital, fraud and internal audit enabling us to influence national guidance and provide early best practice insights. 

Our fraud team’s work with a game’s developer, Attensi, sees the launch a new digital fraud awareness game, which will be rolled out nationwide and a podcast series from this team is about to be launched!

We are looking forward to continuing to support our clients in 2023/24 providing added value and delivering our assurance services to ensure they are personal and responsive, with the best possible customer experience.
