MIAA retains Towards Excellence L3 Accreditation

MIAA has retained Towards Excellence L3 Accreditation from the NHS Skills Development Network.

MIAA is the largest public sector audit, assurance and advisory shared service within the NHS, working across five Integrated Care Systems.

The assessment examined training, development opportunities along with participation in wider regional and national NHS and finance developments. MIAA have a well-established links with local universities supporting a successful internship scheme and runs a staff leadership development programme and coaching support which has now expanded to offer training to its client organisations.

The report stated:

“The assessors were extremely impressed with the continued commitment and approach to skills development and career progression demonstrated by the teams.

It was clear this was led from the top and all staff felt they had the autonomy to develop and make change happen.”

Chris Harrop, MIAA’s Managing Director stated: "We are delighted to achieve this accreditation, it demonstrates our commitment to supporting and developing everyone across the organisation and recognises our influence at regional and national level through our work with The Internal Audit Network and Governance and Risk Network, and high-profile representation on a range of professional bodies.”

MIAA have also held quarterly sessions for Audit Chairs during 2020-21 to ensure there was opportunity for engagement and development of audit chairs. these were so successful; three Audit Chair forums have now been established in the three Northwest systems.

Chris concluded: “Looking to the future, we are continuing to lead in the Northwest on system assurance and supporting partnership working, collaboration and learning. We are launching our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy and further developing our work on social value and sustainability which has increasing priority for our clients and our communities.”
